Our goal is to make home warranty coverage simple and hassle-free.
Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand how to start and maintain your home warranty contract with us.
1. Starting Your Agreement
-
Choose a home warranty plan that fits your needs (Gold, Platinum, or Diamond).
-
Sign up and agree to the terms and conditions of the Fix It Local Home Warranty Plan.
-
Pay an initial deposit equal to three (3) months of the service contract.
-
Your monthly payments begin after the initial deposit is processed.

3. Determining Coverage
-
Coverage is based on the results of your initial inspection.
-
Covered systems include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances (depending on the plan), and more.
-
Items not listed in the plan summary or those with pre-existing damage may not be covered.
-
Optional add-ons like sewer camera inspections or extended pipe leak coverage are available.

5. Requesting a Service Call
-
If a covered item breaks down, file a service request online or by phone.
-
Pay the non-refundable service fee (listed in your plan agreement).
-
A licensed service contractor will be assigned within 48 hours.
-
The contractor will diagnose the issue and determine if it qualifies for repair/replacement.

7. Getting Your Item Repaired or Replaced
-
Once approved, the contractor will complete the repair or replacement.
-
If replacement is required, Fix It Local will provide a similar model up to the coverage limit.
-
All repairs are backed by a 30-day workmanship guarantee.
2. Initial Inspection and Payment Process
-
Once payment is confirmed, Fix It Local will schedule an initial inspection.
-
A licensed technician will assess covered systems and appliances for eligibility.
-
The technician will document system conditions and store model/serial numbers.
-
If any pre-existing issues are detected, coverage limitations may apply.

4. Understanding What’s Covered and What’s Not
-
Covered items are explicitly listed in your plan summary.
-
Some exclusions apply, such as pre-existing issues, cosmetic damages, or items outside the serviceable area.
-
Review your plan details to understand any coverage limits and exclusions.

6. Claim Approval Process
-
After diagnosis, Fix It Local will review the claim.
-
If approved, we will authorize the repair or replacement.
-
If a claim is denied, you have the right to request a second opinion (additional service fee may apply).
-
If the cost of repair/replacement exceeds coverage limits, a Cash-in-Lieu Payment may be offered.

8. Renewal & Maintenance
-
Plans automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
-
Optional seasonal maintenance services (such as HVAC tune-ups) are available.
-
Keep your contact and payment information updated to avoid service interruptions.
